Google favoring fresh content

Google has announced that they have updated their algorithm to support more fresh content for their searches. This new update is expected to impact 35% of all the searches all over the world. Search engine land has written a post discussing about the algorithm change and SEOmoz has also mentioned about the its impact in the search market in their Whiteboard Friday.

This announcement hasn’t came as a surprise for most of us, as Google has always been stressing on the freshness of content. However, it would be very interesting to see the impact on the searches where the content is not updated more often. How much weight will Google put on the freshness of content over links and its other ranking signals and whether the sites with daily updated content will get the extra edge over the other sites?

So, is this update going to favor the blogs even more? We will have to wait and see.

  2. Wonderful blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you advise starting with a free platform like
Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that
I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any ideas? Appreciate it!
